About FEMS

FEMS-Master-Logo-Web.jpgFEMS was founded in 1974. Currently, FEMS has 52 ​​Member Societies from 36 European countries which links around​ 30 000 microbiologists.

To facilitate the exchange of microbiological knowledge, FEMS publishes five journals, organises a biennial congress of microbiologists and initiates campaigns such as the European Academy of Microbiology (EAM) and European Microbiology Forum (EMF).

FEMS also provides funding for early career ​scientists and organisers of microbiology-related events
